Opinions please
As some of you know I am planning next years trip. I thought I knew where I wanted to go, but now i am not so sure. I had planned on going to New York and D.C. for a week each. Then I got to thinking if this was the best way to spend my vacation. This is where all your comments and opinions are needed. I still want to go to New York and D.C., but i thought about cutting the time I would spend there and going to four places instead of two. So I've already decided on New York and D.C., what would you think of possibly Boston and Pennslyvania? Or are there other places in the East I shoud go? Please help me out in deciding where to go? Ciao

You already know that I would want to go to Disney World. Boston sounds cool. You may find that you'll want to spend more time in New York and Washington, D.C. and therefore not have time for Boston and Pennsylvania. Decisions, decisions...
ReplyDeleteI have been to Washington, D.C. and LOVED it. I could probably stay there for two weeks and not run out of things to see. But are you like that? Do you quickly walk through museums or do you stop and read things that interest you?
ReplyDeleteThe Smithsonian alone has 19 museums - all FREE.
We spent an entire day (we were there when it opened until closing) at the US Holocaust Museum - VERY intense, sobering, and emotional. It is also free.
There is the Mall with the Washington, Lincoln, WW II, Vietnam War, and Korean War memorials, along with the White House. Again, free!
You can ride the Metro everywhere and not worry about parking or a rental car. Not free, but very cheap!
One of our favorites was a night time trolley tour. Very worth it. Seeing the Iwo Jima memorial lit up at Arlington was one of my favorites.
I've never been to NYC, but I'm sure there is just as much (if not more) to do there as well.
Sorry for writing a book. Just thought I'd offer a little of what DC has to offer. In my humble opinion, just go to DC and NYC. Save Boston and Philly for the next time.
